Hi I'm Orysia I run a Knitting club every Monday In Starbucks, Bradford. I would love to pass on my sock knitting skills to children as I have an ongoing sock knitting school of sorts at my knit night, so far I have taught 4 girls to knit socks and I have 1 'graduate', ahem! I have an A level equiv or Level III in Crative Cards and studied about all the different crafts you can put on greeting cards, I studied for over 7 years so have an extensive knowledge. My new line in my Craft shop is costume jewellery, yep I make jeweellery as well. I have knitted all my life since age 7 and I can stitch tapestry or cross stitch, Hardanger is a new skill I have been taught and I am attending Embroidery classes in September to learn a bit more about this skill. I have studied Dressmaking for over 30 years and actually did a course which lasted over 8 years, so you could say I am a skilled crafter. I am hopeing to learn about Tatting, crochet and lace making at a future date. I am over 50 so I don't think I would be able to work in a school cos I'm disabled and too old to get a job. But I would love to try to pass on my skill to children in my area. Please let me know if i can help in any way.

Hi there Claire-Louise! It sounds as though you would make a great workshop volunteer. We will soon be creating a Google Map to highlight possible partners in your local area, and help match these to interested schools. In the meantime, keep chatting in the forum and using the community resources to try out fun, new activities and stay connected! If you already have some skills and are interested in learning how to train other volunteers, upcoming dates of training days will also be posted on the website...keep checking for the updates.
