Last week at Bamford Primary School we finished off the last few felt badges and keyrings. The children had been designing them on paper and then making patterns and turning them into either badges or keyrings. The really exciting thing however was that we started crochet. We had set our hearts on doing crochet even before the Hook 1 scheme was launched and I had been going to evening classes to learn how to do it. I have to say it is rather addictive! The children started last week and are loving it. A few have said they are finidng it easier than knitting. Each child is doing what they fancy whether it be circular or a square and then making it into something. One boy has made a pencil topper and one of the girls is making a circular purse. We have several mums and grandmas coming in to do the crochet with the children and everyibe is having a great time. We are getting ready this week for our first little Craft Club exhibition which we are doing on Saturday. All very exciting. Claire
