Hi Mario, I've been in touch with some WI members concerned with North London and will hopefully be able to get you some volunteers this week, could you provide me with a contact email address and phone number so I can get in touch with you regarding this? Thanks, Martin

Hi there Mario, I looked at our volunteer database for your area, and there aren't any Craft Clubs registered there at the moment. What the map does is let us know who is interested in setting up a Club, which allows us to match people up as and when we get matches. You are right, knitting is a great way of inspiring the young, and also a great way of encouraging creativity and problem solving. What I would suggest is that you perhaps look at speaking with local craft shops, and looking out for similar events or tutorials in your area. Get talking with people and you may be able to source some volunteers of your own, as it sounds like you have a really good space to offer. In the meantime I'll keep scanning, and will look into stuff going on in your area and keep you posted! Thanks, Martin

I've done it!:-) What's the likelihood of someone getting in touch with me... fairly soon? :-) Sorry, I'm new on the craft club website and don't know the effectiveness. The article in The Guardian did mention how popular knitting had become and that was what inspired me to offer the Family Learning Room to anyone who wants to work with parents/carers and members of the local community. I might even join in with my daughter, too. She's not at Houndsfield but she did take up knitting some time ago and is really enthused about it. Having seen the benefits so close, I would like to offer the same opportunity to families from the area. Sorry, I didn't meant to write such a long message but having just launched the Family Learning and Community programme here at Houndsfield, I'm still finding my feet in regards to what provision parents really find useful. Thank you very much for your help.

Good morning Mario. Do you have a user name and password for the Craft Club website? If so, there is a link to the right of the Craft Map page that reads 'Click here to add your information to the Craft Map', where you will be able to add details of your institution and details. If not, simply click the 'Join up' link on the main Craft Club website, where you can enter some of your details and obtain a user name and password, then you can proceed to the Craft Map page and follow the above steps. I hope this helps!
