Knitting and a bit of maths

I've recently logged in to teacher.tv (you don't have to be a teacher), searched 'knitting', and found a few good ideas for incorporating ideas of maths into knitting. Obviously for a fun craft club this shouldn't be emphasised too heavily, but it made me think of introducing ideas of measurement, estimating how long it will take to knit so many rows, how fast bigger needles knit compared to smaller needles, weight of yarns etc.... It was really neat!
