A national campaign for craft

What is Craft Club?

Craft Club is a national campaign that champions craft in schools and other educational centres.

Get your school, gallery or library crafting! All young people deserve access to a full range of fun and rewarding craft projects as part of their cultural learning. We can help by uniting skilled and enthusiastic volunteers with schools and venues through after-hours clubs. The generous support of our volunteers ensures Craft Club is available free-of-charge to schools/ venues in England.

Take the Craft Club Survey and Win resources for your Craft Club!

First of all, a Happy New Year from all of us here at Craft Club, we do hope you all got those new knits you wanted for Christmas! If not, we have some presents of our own to offer you; here at the Crafts Council we really like to know about your individual Craft Club, what you are doing with them, and what we can do to help you out, so we are giving away Craft Club goodies to those of you with active Craft Clubs! All you have to do is fill out the Craft Club survey which is available in the downloads section of this site, and send it back to us with details of your Craft Club at:

Here is a sneak peak of the goodies on offer, along with a selection of customised Craft Club bags we were sent in from Ribston Hall High School in Gloucester as a result of the additional resources; what a great activity idea for other Craft Clubs!:

Craft Club Training Events

A big thank-you to all of you who attended training sessions in 2011, we had a great time delivering them and do hope you got from them the tools you need to start or improve your club. The number of Craft Clubs is now verging on an outstanding 500 thanks to your ongoing participation, and we can only hope to continue to build on this

We have had a really great amount of positive feedback from the training days, and so are in the process of scheduling a handful more in the new year; for more information and details, please check back here

If you haven't been able to get a place this year, do look out for new dates as they appear.

Thank you to all the people who made it to the Knitting & Stitching Show talks. We met over 100 new faces and talked ourselves raw. HUGE apologies to anyone who turned up to a talk and found that there was no one there, we had someone poorly over the weekend who couldn't make it.
